Family Support

When Ohio Task Force One departs for a mission, the team’s Deployment Support Center (DSC) is activated. Typically located at the McFadden training building, the Support Center becomes a critical link between the team members in the field and their families at home. Family members are kept abreast of the team’s location, current mission, and individual well-being. This is done both through both the “Family Resource Center” of our web-based forum and by personal phone calls made to the family. In addition to just relaying information, families are also offered assistance from DSC personnel should the need arise while their family member is out on deployment.

The second important function of the Deployment Support Center is to assist the team itself. The DSC has the resources necessary to do much of the support work that would be otherwise difficult for the team operating in the field. This may include researching technical information for deployed specialists, locating and planning fuel stops for the vehicle caravan, or finding the nearest overnight accommodations. Whatever the case, the Deployment Support Center is there to make the lives of the deployed team members easier, safer, and in some cases a little more comfortable.

The link below will take you to the “Family Resource Center” of the online forum. Login and password information may either be given by your family member prior to their departure or can be obtaining from the Deployment Support Center staff. If you have any questions or would like to contact the DSC directly during a deployment, feel free to give them a call at 937-252-3360.
