Ohio Task Force One employs a number of assets to fulfill its Urban Search and Rescue mission. Among these are a vast cache of equipment, physical facilities, training grounds, and an extensive vehicular fleet.
When deployed to an incident, Ohio Task Force One takes with them everything that is needed to perform all US&R operations and be completely self-sufficient for the first three days (72-hours) of and incident. This includes sensitive technical search equipment, heavy demolition tools, power-generating capabilities, protection from hazardous materials, documentation supplies, food, and shelter. The FEMA US&R Type I (heavy) equipment cache contains over 27,000 pieces of equipment valued at over $4-million dollars. This requires a vast amount of equipment to be stored and maintained for immediate use.
The following identifies the equipment that the Task Force can bring to bear on an incident, and the current facilities that it manages. Construction of the Training Center, and associated training props, were funded by the State of Ohio. The facility can be used by any government agency in the State of Ohio, and any NGO and/or non-profit organization. To inquire about the facility, or to reserve it for your training, call 937-512-5103 and ask to speak to a member of the Task Force staff.
